Moving and Handling of People Practical session

-Moving and handling practical sessions can include initial hoist training and equipment-specific transfers during course booking.

– All delegates need to have attended the half-day theory course.

– When hoisting training is selected, the Delegates will learn the theory behind hoisting through a PowerPoint presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.

– These theory sessions will be followed by a practical session on safe hoisting protocols.

– A case manager* or SENCO* will need to attend any hoist training session or one of the sessions if more delegates need training.

*This responsible staff member will need to oversee the staff members attending this training in their setting once it has been completed and review the staff member’s competencies.

–  In all practical sessions, the theory gained from the half-day theory course will reinforce the need for a smooth manual handling technique. It should help keep people safe and reduces their risk of injury while engaged in a task with manual handling content.
