I can use my experience to develop moving and handling plans by working with the staff and professionals involved with the young person.
Always being mindful of balancing the young person’s therapeutic progress, independence, and safety for everyone.
I have 20 years experience of working with children and young people aged from 3 to 19 years with a range of disabilities and nine years as a Moving and Handling Trainer.
Consultancy Examples
–– Advisor to clinical and non-clinical Staff on specific Moving and Handling issues.
– Help/train staff how to create moving and handling risk assessments for a young person.
– Evaluate existing risk assessments for a young person, moving and handlings plans and adapt or provide feedback where necessary.
– Devising step-by-step moving and handling plans for individuals, including those with complex moving and handling needs, making recommendations to minimise risk to individuals and Staff. Liaising with the physiotherapist and other relevant professionals as required.
– Work with the Staff to ensure that all Staff are confident and competent in their practice.
I have many passions, and one of them is to do my best to ensure that pupils have the right environment to learn in and the right equipment to support them in becoming independent learners.
Staff have the right environment to work in, the right equipment and safe systems of work to protect them and the young people they are assisting.
All schools must have an Accessibility Plan that will have a review date.
I can review your school environment for the Staff and pupils and write a report based on my feedback.
I have guided, advised and educated managers on actions for urgent change and came up with many options for the governing body to consider as part of school improvement.
Both old and new buildings can be fraught with problems when adaptations are required.
I have experience in daily tasks supporting pupils, so I can comprehend the problems Staff might encounter.
